We are currently looking for someone to join our team as a Concrete Technologist (VAP Mix Designer) to join our friendly team in Shawell, Leicestershire.

In the role of Concrete Technologist (VAP Mix Designer) you will be responsible for:

• Allocate and manage development and troubleshooting projects within agreed timescales.
• Design and optimise special concretes (VAPs) as identified by the Business, and, in conjunction with the Regional teams, ensure the product range is available and robust.
• Design and optimise standard concretes, particularly with regard to new material packages and Major Project work
• Ensure that Company protocols on design and production are maintained.
• Foster and maintain relationships with supplier and academic research and development laboratories.
• Manage the day to day operation of the National Concrete Laboratory, ensuring that the related working environments and equipment are correctly maintained and in safe condition.
• Assist with Risk Assessments and the provision of effective Safe Working Systems.

The ideal candidate for the role of Concrete Technologist (VAP Mix Designer) you will have experience of:

• ICT Certificate in Concrete Technology & Construction General Principles (Level 2), and ICT Certificate in Concrete Technology & Construction Practical Applications (Level 3)
• Relevant qualifications in a science or engineering based subject (desirable).
• Familiar with RMX production processes & best practise
• Experience of Admixture types, and chemistry
• Extensive knowledge of readymix products , applications, and constituent materials
• Ability to optimise conventional and VAP readymix products
• Supervisory experience in a laboratory environment
