Do you have an interest in health and wellbeing as well as experience of under-represented Eastern European communities? This role is a great entry point for anyone with an interest in research as you will benefit from full training given by the University of Northampton and the Public Health team.

The position is based at One Angel Square / The Guildhall, Northampton, however,  the applicant may be expected to work at external sites, some homeworking may be available.

The council is in the process of implementing a new pay structure and terms and conditions which will be applicable to this role.  The outcome could result in a future variation to the advertised salary, and this will be discussed at interview.

What will you be doing?

Could you:

  • Create links with Eastern European communities to understand their health and wellbeing needs, developing effective ways of engaging, influencing and negotiating with them?
  • Use your strong IT, written and oral communication skills to collect information about their levels of health and wellbeing engagement to inform future services and improve public health outcomes for them?
  • Gather and present complex information to both individuals and groups in a way they will understand?
  • Follow procedures and practice while working independently?
  • Lead task and finish groups and prioritise work across several projects?
About you

It would be helpful if you have:

  • A working knowledge and/or understanding of any Eastern European Language/s.
  • Experience of working with health and/or Community Engagement.
  • A good understanding of public health practice and/or health promotion.
  • Any health care evaluation experience would be very welcome.
  • A degree in a relevant subject or a professional qualification at similar level
