A global leader in its field is looking for a Welding Inspector to join its team.

The expectation of the Welding Inspector is to ensure compliance to drawing and welding procedures. Reporting to the Special Process Manager, the Weld Inspector will form part of the Quality team. The role will involve working directly with Welding Operators and customers to support manufacture of heat exchanger assemblies.

Hours are a basic 37 each week, with some overtime available on most weeks, and paid at enhanced rates. Lunchtime finish on Fridays.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure welds are performed to drawing and weld procedures
• Perform pre-weld visual fit up and welding equipment verification
• Perform post-weld visual inspection to ensure quality requirements are achieved
• Define re-work and repair schemes and document accordingly
• Mentor and provide constructive feedback to Fitting and Welding Operators
• Undertake department spot checks to ensure TPM and continued NADCAP compliance
• Participate in RRCA investigations and support implementing robust corrective actions
• Support improvement activities to remove waste and improve efficiency

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years TIG Welding experience in Aluminum and Stainless / Nickel Alloys
• CSWIP Level 3.1 qualified (essential)
• Minimum City & Guilds Fabrication and Welding qualified or equivalent

• Highly-motivated, flexible, responsive to change, and calm under pressure
• Ability to manage and lead technical discussions
• Candidate must have excellent verbal and written skills, including the ability to prepare and report technical information to Senior Leadership
• Works well in a team environment and has the ability to work across various departmental functions within the Company
