We are looking for an Assurance Manager to join us on a fixed term maternity cover contract until December 2023. Reporting to the Head of Health & Safety, Assurance, you will bring your proven auditor expertise and skills to lead and own the development of our overall assurance plan, leading and supporting the growing assurance team and directly leading on the H&S compliance audits.

You’ll lead, support and coach a small team of auditors and be responsible for the programme of practical and value-added independent reviews that ensure we maintain the highest levels of control and legislative compliance. Your remit will include the delivery of assurance across the transformation of our asset compliance systems to a single Enterprise Asset Management system through D365 and the internalisation of the gas servicing project team, developing the assurance plan for both projects, providing confidence to both the project team and senior leadership teams that all risks are adequately controlled pre and post mobilisation.

You will join the Health, Safety and Assurance team and work collaboratively alongside business leaders and colleagues to assure that our compliance control frameworks are operating effectively. You will lead the development of the business frameworks and provide business user support, offering advice and challenge to colleagues, and providing insightful independent assurance to the Executive and Board through control testing, reporting and delivery of the assurance programme.


This role is a fantastic opportunity to harness your assurance and audit experience and really make an impact. This is a roaming role with a mix of office and remote working and your base can be at any of our offices in Wolverhampton (WV10), Tewkesbury (GL20) or South Gloucestershire (BS37).

We are looking for you to bring these skills and experience:

  • Specific experience and proven expertise in an audit related role (essential) within a regulated industry (desired)
  • Knowledge of landlord compliance legal requirements
  • Knowledge of IIA standards
  • Desire and drive to learn, grow and have impact quickly as part of an expanding team
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with a focus on execution
  • Experience of health and safety auditing and asset/ landlord compliance (desirable)
  • Experience in social housing, or construction, manufacturing, utilities sectors (desirable)
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
