And right now, we are looking for a Senior Finance Analyst to join our Underwriting Finance team. Working closely with various key stakeholders across the business, this role will use data and analysis to facilitate fast paced and well-informed decisions that deliver on our strategy. Our flexible approach to work means that you can largely work from home, with 1-2 days per month in our Folkestone or London office.

Alongside working with the business to make great decisions, the role holder will help develop internal management performance reporting, finance processes and collaborate on regular reforecasts and long-term plans.

Main Responsibilities
  • Business partner with the product pricing, underwriting and claims management teams
  • Provide commercial finance analysis for strategic workstreams and investment initiatives
  • Develop trading dashboards across Underwriting and Claims to provide improved insight
  • Analysis of trading performance vs budget and forecast, including identification and monitoring of risks and opportunities
  • Tracking of management initiative deliverables, and acting as a bridge between the business and the Financial Planning & Analysis team
  • Alignment of the forecast distribution plan with insurance brokers
  • Develop and maintain the cash flow forecasting model to ensure optimal investment of asset portfolio in line with Investment Policy
  • Benchmarking and analysis of market trends
The Ideal Candidate
  • Professional qualification in accountancy such as ACA/ACCA/CIMA, with at least 1-2 years’ post qualified experience, but exceptional candidates with less experience will also be considered
  • A flair for systems and process efficiency, particularly MS Excel skills. Experience of IBM TM1 or Planning Analytics would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to quickly build relationships across the organisation
  • Curious and proactive – seeking solutions and deeper understanding of the ‘why’ and ‘how’
  • Ability to work under pressure whilst balancing multiple deliverables and priorities
  • Previous experience working in the insurance industry is desirable
