Reporting to our Industrial Services Director, you will support our commercial teams and the wider UK business, creating a centralised function of all bid and tender activity to create a best in class function that with time will grow through success into a winning team.

What you will be doing:

You will support the business by planning and managing the bid pipeline, scoring, process and delivering tender responses in line with the company’s brand and processes.

Collate and co-ordinate all major tendering activity across the UK business, creating a best in class bid library from prior bids, adding to this through experiences and knowledge cultivated from across the business’s commercial teams. Creating a winning tender response template tool and a scoring system to prioritise tender responses and those we choose not to chase.

You will have full access to the all available tender portals and platforms, acting as the central co-ordinator and leader on which business opportunities we focus upon. You will support and be supported by the EMR Commercial teams, marketing and finance colleagues.

In addition to the above, you will also:

  • Project manage the whole bid process for large and sometimes complex schemes
  • Manage the pipeline of Pre-Qualifying Questionnaires (PQQ’s) and Tenders
  • Develop and implement bid and proposal strategies
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of tender submissions
  • Produce weekly and monthly reports for management
  • Leading bid teams to secure work for the business UK wide
  • Working with Directors, AGMs, CMs, to develop Win Plans and strategies
  • Liaise closely with the internal stakeholders. Develop relationships and maintain close contact with key decision makers throughout the bid process
  • Establish a clear and thorough understanding of the bid requirements, including the main deliverables and the client’s drivers for developing the project
  • Review and approve bid documentation, including costing, risk assessments and bid documentation to meet customer deadlines
  • Contribution to strategy definition and execution through the analysis and identification of new markets, segments, and/or solutions
  • Ensure governance is followed and all relevant approvals are obtained
  • Record, analyse and apply customer bid feedback to future responses to drive continuous
  • Taking a proactive role in the writing of standard content and project profiles - closing gaps where possible by interviewing / questioning relevant parts of the business
  • Taking the lead in the bid programme, ensuring content is fully compliant, quality checked to deliver a bid to deadline
  • Understanding EMRs geographical coverage and competition in the area (market knowledge)
  • Constantly monitor and maintain a high knowledge and awareness of industry best practices and initiatives
  • Ensure that a professional and consistent approach is taken in relation to all supplier relationships
  • Monitor market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers
  • Proactive management of tender portals and industry bidding platforms to identify new opportunities to share with wider commercial team
  • To identify and evaluate new business opportunities across all business sectors
  • To implement market research when required and maintain a repository of all research that is relevant to the business needs
  • Inform the business of industry trends and requirements to ensure that EMR’s accreditation is kept up to date so we are not precluded from any opportunities
  • Maintain a diary of tender renewal dates (for live EMR contracts and contracts that we have missed out on)

 

About you:

The successful candidate will be:

  • A proven track record of successfully writing and managing tenders
  • Extensive experience of managing and leading to an improved Bid / Success conversion rate
  • Strong project management and organisational skills
  • Ability to analytically analyse issues/problems
  • Knowledge of data protection and security issues
