Working as a key member of the operations team, the post holder will operate, supervise and maintain the plant and equipment whilst prioritising safety and efficiency.

We will be conducting interviews on Thursday 23rd February 23 and start our first cohort of training on 3rd April 23. Suitable applicants will be invited to visit our IES site for an event where you can meet the depot manager, shift manager and L&D contact and have a full site tour.  Following this, successful candidates will be invited for a face-to-face interview.  

What you will be doing:
  • Understand and adhere to Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures.
  • Work to all relevant  safe working procedures (SWP’s) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs);
  • Maintain and wear statutory PPE issued and report defects to the site management team as required;
  • Report all accidents and near misses in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Monitoring the operational performance of plant and equipment and reporting defects and variations.
  • Carry out basic planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Conduct Patrol Audits as directed by the Shift Supervisor.

•   Assist with any general duties as required by the Shift Supervisor.

  • Complete training and development in order to multi-skill and enable growth and career progression.
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures including safe working procedures (SWPs).
  • Carry out daily and periodic checks including safety and quality
  • Carry out activities to capture, record and action all machine defects.
  • Assist the maintenance team with plant issue resolution
  • Ensure good housekeeping standards are met and relevant PPE is worn
  • Ensure safe isolation of machinery before undertaking relevant work
  • Undertake corrective actions within scope of authorisation
  • Complete actions from daily fault sheets
  • Work in accordance with risk assessments for bespoke maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure plant and workspace hygiene standards are maintained
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance activities.
  • Deliver a full and comprehensive operational handover between shifts
About you:
  • A strong appreciation and understanding of a safe working environment,  hazard awareness and a compliant attitude
  • Previous experience of basic mechanical and electrical maintenance.
  • Manufacturing production or material processing experience
  • Previous experience of having worked to standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and unsupervised as well as in a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail and solid problem-solving skills.
  • NPORS or equivalent qualification in telehandler and fork lift truck driving.
