Colas is seeking a Traffic Signals Engineer to join the team. The Traffic Signals Engineer will be responsible for the reactive and, annual maintenance of the traffic signals street equipment which are stalled on all of Circa 320 sites within the county of Lincolnshire and, will report to the Contract Supervisor.

Main Responsibilities

You will ensure all operations carried out within Lincolnshire are undertaken with full regard for the safety of yourself, your colleagues, our contractors and members of the public. You will ensure all activities carried out within Lincolnshire are undertaken with due regard for the environment. You will support all aspects of company H&S: near misses, incident reporting, investigations and complying with all traffic signals risk assessments. You will also support the Contract Supervisor in their decision making, by communicating all technical and on-site faults effectively. You will be supporting the installation and refurbishment of traffic signals equipment and infrastructure to a high standard. You will be responsible for updating site files with correct and appropriate information and to report all delays to your work to the Contract supervisor.

The Ideal Candidate

You will have experience in identifying faults, repairing and maintaining electronic equipment. Ideally, you'll have some basic electrical knowledge and mechanical aptitude. However, this is not essential. What’s more important is that you have a good attitude and aptitude towards the job. You must have the ability to interpret and communicate technical information at a detailed level. Having experience working in an outside environment during all seasons is essential. You will be self-motivated, be able to work on your own and be comfortable working at heights. A full UK driving license is required.
