We are looking for a carer support handler to join our on-call team.  This is a fully remote role, but you must be available in the evenings and on alternate weekends.  You will be part of a team which is first line contact for all carers and support them on queries ranging from questions relating to supporting their clients, managing incidents, the use of IT systems used by our carers to record daily care records and electronic medication charts , financial transactions, and food and fluid charts. You will also provide excellent customer support to existing clients and make sure all enquiries are responded to in a timely and professional manner, providing a quick resolution to any queries or concerns, or escalated when appropriate.

Main Responsibilities

Your role will include:

  • Answering incoming calls and dealing with a wide variety of queries from carers, Care Managers and clients

  • Making outbound support calls to Carers  

  • Dealing with incidents - review, support and escalate

  • Liaising with the HR team and scheduling team on absence management and carer availability

  • Supporting carers in making travel arrangements

  • Being responsible for the opening, closing, reviewing and assigning of issues raised via an electronic platform

  • Preparing handover documents for on call team, based on the details provided by Care Managers

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for:

  • Ideally have worked in the health care sector with an understanding of the expectations of a carers role and subsequent support required for both carers and clients - not essential. 

  • An ability to prioritise effectively, plan and organise

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Experience with dealing with difficult and challenging situations

  • An ability to problem solve and risk assess

  • An ability to stay calm and to work at a fast pace

  • IT literate; able to use word, excel, laptop and tablet functions

  • An ability to multitask, be highly organised and able to work to conflicting and challenging deadlines
