Finance Assistant
£27,881
35 hours per week, Full Time, Hybrid
Our wonderful International Charity Client is seeking a Finance Assistant for a FTC until 31/12/23 to start immediately.
The Finance team, within the CFO Directorate (comprising Finance, IT, Facilities, HR, Quality Management, Legal and Planning), is responsible for the management of the Foundation’s finances. The team is currently involved in several exciting major projects to improve its systems and processes, whilst continuing to provide consistently effective and robust financial management services to the organisation.
If you’re a proactive and a confident communicator and you have experience in a fast paced office environment, or even better a faced paced finance team then you could be the finance administrator we are looking for! You’ll need to have the ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt quickly, be self-motivated and have good attention to detail. Ideally you will already be proficient in excel; vlookups and pivot tables.
Key Tasks

Purchase ledger and balance sheet accounts
• Process purchase invoices received
• Process other transactions including credit card and other expenses into the finance system
• Prepare reconciliations for bank accounts and other control accounts as required
• Monthly FX count
• Create/check payments to suppliers/staff/other organisations as required
Sales ledger and credit control
• Raise sales invoices from reports submitted by the Foundation’s Licensees, other sales invoices (for example, recharge invoices), and sales credit notes as required
• Assist the Finance Officer - Income to proactively manage outstanding debt from customers to maximize cash flows
• Raising re-charge invoices to other organisations and reconciling the related expenditure
• Input data from sales reports to the Fairtrade systems
Other tasks
Support and guide staff in the operation of financial procedures, monitor compliance with those procedures and raise any concerns with the Finance Manager
• Maintain an effective filing system for all financial records
• Oversee and monitor the work of volunteers as required
• Provide assistance to other members of the Finance, IT and Facilities Team as required
