We are currently looking to recruit an excellent and experienced hands-on Head Chef to join a key client of ours in our corporate services segment. The focus will be to manage the catering services whilst delivering an exceptional Catering experience to our Stakeholders and clients.

In this demanding yet hugely rewarding role you will ensure prompt and efficient production/ preparation and service of meals and demonstrate innovation in our food service offer.

You will be an experienced and talented chef with the ability to lead a team of kitchen staff effectively bringing out the best in them and encouraging creativity!

Package Description

£35,000pa - £38,000pa + excellent benefits

Location: Reading, RG6

Permanent

Work Pattern – 40 hrs pw Monday to Friday with flexibility essential to meet business demands

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent customer service from the preparation, presentation and service of food and beverages to the client & Sodexo’s satisfaction, and to ensure standards are met.
  • Ensure a Quality excellence in food delivery.
  • Manage the kitchen team on site, providing first line support for staff & conversing as required with the catering lead and client.
  • Manage & control the site service for the client to the agreed specification & to the agreed performance & qualitative targets.

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • Minimum five years’ experience in a similar role
  • Minimum level 3 NVQ or City & Guilds 706,1,2
  • Food handler supervisor level three qualification
  • Excellent communication and culinary skills
  • Proven experience in managing & leading a catering team
  • Proven track record in innovation of services … Health and Wellbeing being a key driver.
  • Industry acumen & knowledge of external catering developments & innovations
  • Strong financial understanding & demonstrable budgeting management
  • Experienced in adhering to & driving company initiatives
  • Experience in working in a standards / compliance environment
  • Ability to adhere to all health & safety practices
  • Team Player
  • High levels of personal hygiene and appearance

Desirable

Knowledge of Company IT systems & procedures
