We have a vacancy for you to join our amazing family as a Plumber in Wythenshawe Hospital, Manchester! Your previous industrial and commercial experience will help you identify problems, perform necessary repairs or routine maintenance and schedule PPMS and reactive maintenance and work on projects for sustainability.  

This vital role will see you delivering 5-star support, responding to our customer`s requirements and carrying out your duties in a professional and courteous manner.

A few things about you 

Your ability to diagnose equipment and determine if a repair and maintenance work is needed or not; and ability to keep records of work done, etc will be vital in this busy and fast-paced role. Your excellent communication skills will also help you to explain technical information to clients in a way they will understand

We also want you to bring your can-do attitude, IT skills and excellent time management skills with you when you join us. 

As this is a customer facing role, it’s important that you bring your helpful and friendly attitude. You’ll also work as part of a team, so your strong communication skills will be key.

Sodexo are looking for a Plumber to join their team at Wythenshawe Hospital in Manchester

  • 8:00am - 4:30pm

Main Responsibilities
  • Will have day to day responsibility for responding to issued PDA based work orders and for correctly filling in, attaching supporting evidence through to completion
  • Will work to health and safety requirements.
  • Will be required to work on new systems, undertake training, learn new techniques and legislation as required and pass on knowledge to others.
  • Will be required to use all relevant tools and equipment within their specific field.
  • Will be required to participate in the following emergency cover:
  • Out of Hours ‘On Call’
  • 15-Minute Response
  • Lift Release Warden
  • Will be required to participate in Continued Professional Development (CPD) both on site at Wythenshawe Hospital and at external training providers
  • ill be available to carry out ‘out of hours’ pre-planned maintenance.
  • May be required to use access equipment for working at heights.
  • May be required to work alone.
  • May be required to drive the company vehicle from time to time as directed by the supervisor / chargehand.
  • May be required to work out of hours shift patterns.
  • To undertake all additional duties and responsibilities as instructed by senior management and may be required to work on other Sodexo contracts as directed by his manager.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Fully qualified Plumber with NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
  • Excellent written, verbal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of ACOP L8 & HSG274
  • Experience of working in a healthcare environment (HTM 04).
  • Experience of working with live drains
  • Ability to use Microsoft applications and PDA
