We are currently looking for a Cyber Security Operations Analyst to join our expanding team on a permanent basis.
This is an exciting new role where you will support the Cyber Security Operations Manager to monitor and respond to various notifications from monitoring systems to improve the IT Security of the group.
You will also work with users across the business to respond to security issues and will identify and suggest improvements that can be made to technologies, processes, and new initiatives.
Some of your daily tasks will include:
To monitor, maintain and protect the Group’s networks, systems and assets for malicious activity typically using technologies such as Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM) and IDS systems.
Respond rapidly and effectively to IT security incidents, managing them in a professional manner, including performing forensics for evidence gathering and preservation.
To communicate with internal staff and external service providers and suppliers to ensure a smooth and efficient IT Security service.
Assisting in maintaining the Group’s ISO 27001 certification, and work with the Cyber Security Operations Manager to investigate and implement new standards.
To carry out technical vulnerability and penetration assessments of IT systems to identifying potential weaknesses, make recommendations to control identified risks and work with those individuals to ensure they are implemented.
Assist with the co-ordination and planning of cyber security training across the Group
Some of the things we are looking for:
Knowledge of technical infrastructure, networks, databases, and systems in relation to IT Security and IT Risk.
Experience in administering IT security controls in an organisation
Experience conducting IT compliance assessments
Ability to demonstrate good situational awareness of the cyber threat landscape, and experience of applying this knowledge to networks, identifying security risks, and recommending improvements.
A systematic and analytical approach to problem solving
Have a degree in a relevant subject (Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Security) or related field required or equivalent experience.
ITIL Foundation with experience of the ITIL change and incident processes, and the ability to assess potential security impacts of technical changes
Be committed to working out of hours if required and be able to support in dealing with short notice security incidents
While this role is home based, you should have the ability to travel to Group offices and other locations as required. Our Group offices are located at Birmingham Business Park and Central Park, Worcester.
