We are looking for a skilled solicitor or legal executive to join our team of dedicated professionals to provide advice and support to Trade Unions and their members. Such role is based within our specialist Settlement Agreement Unit.

As an admitted solicitor/legal executive, you will be assessing and advising on settlement agreements and identifying any issues which may arise according to the needs of each client. Contacting union officials and members will form a large part of this role and excellent communication skills will be paramount.

The role requires excellent prioritisation skills and meticulous attention to detail to enable you to construct clear and effective arguments, yielding the best result for our clients. You will need to show empathy and understanding, providing a professional legal service with a personal touch.

For the successful candidate, a day in the life is never the same, however a typical day may include:

• Providing initial advice by telephone
• Formal negotiation of settlement agreement terms with various personnel, such as lawyers, employers and HR professionals
• Dealing with incoming and outgoing emails
• Liaising with Union officials
• Executing Settlement Agreements
• Undertaking legal research where necessary using the internet and legal online training resources

Having the confidence and ability to take appropriate daily decisions on cases to ensure swift progression will be key for success.
