The starting salary for this position is £16,348 per annum based on a 36 hour working week. This is a 15 – 18 month apprenticeship opportunity.

About Us

This apprenticeship sits within the Programme Support Team in the People and Change Service at Surrey County Council. People and Change is concerned with looking after and developing our staff so that they can work effectively and support the residents of Surrey. The role reports to the Senior Programme Support Advisor and the team sit within the Insights, Programmes and Governance team.

The Programme Support Team has 10 members and we cover a broad range of activities ranging from training, supporting with admin for the Employment Practice and Reward Team, working with our wellbeing team on various pieces of work, raising purchase orders and paying invoices for goods and services which the Service require. Team members work together and support each other to achieve the goals of the team.  

About The Apprenticeship

Our Apprenticeship scheme enables you to gain skills and training to be part of a recognised professional role that really makes things happen for the people in Surrey, whilst receiving guidance and career support every step of the way.

Your role within the team will focus on supporting the ongoing success of our Content Hubs for staff including the Performance, Leadership, Wellbeing and Early Careers Hubs and creating synergies and links between them all as one 'People and Change Front Door’. During your apprenticeship with us, you will support with creating content for our Hubs, which will involve researching, preparing and developing messages to maximise audience engagement. You will work with the team, and colleagues more widely, to simplify and tailor content with specific target audiences in mind.

You will get the opportunity to support and work alongside all our colleagues within the team and, as well as receiving guidance and support from a fun and friendly team, you will have a buddy network of like-minded apprentices to lean on. This is a varied role, and you will have the chance to make it your own, whilst we will provide you with all the knowledge and training you require to be successful. The work you do will reinforce your learning, providing evidence-based experiences to support your qualification. You will be fully supported and mentored through your apprenticeship and will be given time, whilst at work, to complete your course work with a dedicated Assessor.

About You

We have already had many Apprentices successfully complete our scheme and many have gone on to secure roles within the Council.
