Role overview

 To be fully conversant with the Procurement Department’s Receipt and Distribution procedures. 

 To receive goods and distribute deliveries of stock and non-stock items as directed to wards and departments. 

To assist with loading and unloading of vehicles. 

To break down bulk packs of items to unit of issue. 

To assist with end of year stocktaking. 

To ensure goods received into the stores (quantities of boxes, parcels, tote bins and cages etc.) are accurately checked against delivery notes and discrepancies reported as necessary. 

To ensure that all stock and non-stock material is checked into the Trust and distributed to the user promptly and efficiently. 

 To carry out order picking and receipt of requisitions from all wards and departments. 

To provide a quality service to wards and departments on behalf of the Receipt and Distribution Department. 

To complete goods received and delivery documentation and other records as directed. 


Qualifications
The post holder must possess a basic level of literacy and numeracy
to perform operational duties to meet pre-set schedules, in line with
stores procedure.
Skills
The post holder must be physically fit as the duties will involve
manual handling of medium/heavy items and must have the ability
to work with all levels of staff. Previous stores or supply experience
is desirable.
