Role Purpose:

• Build relationships with strategically important customers and act as point of escalation for portfolio and sales teams to ensure the strength of long-term customer partnerships and their innovation pipeline planning
• Be the great food champion for Greencore by ensuring that the principles of innovative, safe and sustainable food are represented at the highest level within the business through an over-arching food, packaging and innovation strategy
• Translate the latest insight and market research into overarching food and packaging innovation pipelines, which will align Greencore and customer food agendas, for each portfolio
• Work collaboratively with portfolio Heads of Food to review the product and packaging development agenda for each product portfolio to ensure alignment to customer food strategies
• Provide leadership and inspiration and development to the innovation, packaging and culinary teams to create a pipeline of innovation for the business portfolios
• Embed the food, packaging and sustainability agenda within the product development teams to ensure delivery of the overall business sustainability agenda
• Provide subject matter expertise to the Board and Executive team to ensure new business and acquisition decisions are made with the right level of food innovation insight
• Provide recommendations for the annual budget process and monitor spend within the innovation teams to ensure that costs remain within set levels
• Support the achievement of our sustainability plan through leading with a sustainability mindset
• Support the achievement of our inclusion and diversity aspirations through role modelling and personally leading and hiring inclusively, embracing and encouraging diversity
• Implement and ensure compliance with our data management and governance policies, procedures and/or guidance governance approaches so that associated risks are mitigated and managed

• Graduate calibre with demonstrable leadership experience in an innovation and/or product development role 
• Experience of leading a Product Development team within an FMCG company (or similar) 
• Understanding of customer needs, food and market trends
• Experience managing an expense budget effectively
• Advanced PowerPoint and presentation skills
• Experience leading on and delivering strategic planning
• Full driving licence
