We are currently looking to appoint an inspiring and dedicated Nurture teacher to work with a small group KS3 - 4 students with a range of needs including SEMH and ADHD.

These students have gaps in their learning and are working below age related expectation. Our goal is to address the social and emotional needs that can hamper pupils’ learning. As teacher you will provide academic teaching as well as help children develop vital social skills, to develop confidence and self-respect, and to take pride in behaving well and in achieving. You will be working alongside other professions such as Pastoral manager, speech and language therapist as well as trauma informed practitioners. The successful candidate will be suitably qualified with KS2/KS3 teaching knowledge, experience and an understanding of the curriculum. This may be more suited to a primary trained teacher.

We are seeking someone who thrives on working in a challenging but immensely rewarding environment, who are passionate about the development of our pupils and who truly want to make a difference to the lives of young people. Previous experience working within SEN is desirable but not essential, however, you will need to have the ability to motivate and effectively communicate with children who have SEMH needs.

The following would be beneficial, but not essential as training will be given:

To have knowledge and understanding of nurture groups/nurturing provisions.

To be familiar with the principles of nurture.
