Our Team
Representing Bauer Audio UK for Gem and the wider Bauer portfolio of digital brands including Greatest Hits, across the East Midlands. You will be an integral part of the East’s leadership team, collaborating across the Region and beyond as part of an extensive, expanded team of professionals. You will be responsible for a team of 4 direct reports, that service the whole of Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, and Derbyshire. You will be an ambitious and driven leader, with exceptional coaching skills – someone who knows how to motivate and inspire their team to succeed and who is excited to join us on this journey of ambition, growth and success.
The Role
As Sales Director you will embody Bauer Media’s values and drive our company strategy and goals into the commercial business to a high quality and to desired timelines.
You will take responsibility for the delivery of commercial revenues and drive the commercial strategy into the site(s) you are responsible for. You will be responsible for the leadership of the sales team and some day to day business management activities.
The role is directly responsible for managing activities such as productivity, sales activity, customer management and development, streamlining processes and administration and delivering quality customer service in order to deliver robust financial performance.
You will have genuine empathy for others and maximise their impact through understanding the motivations of their team and adapt their communication style accordingly. You must be able to deliver information efficiently and accurately to the right people, at the right time, using the right medium.
Working within a complex matrix structure, you will be at ease with a fast paced, dynamic working environment. This role requires someone with a highly collaborative leadership and working style and the expectation to communicate and collaborate with multi-disciplined departments and reporting lines.
You will be expected to demonstrate a genuine passion for commercial team's mission, translating the commercial vision into the day to day. You will implement the core deliverables via the sales operations in the local markets that they are responsible for with exceptional results.
Bauer Media pride themselves on being a data lead business and are comfortable working with KPI’s and other benchmarks to track success. You will be expected to review data to draw meaningful conclusions and find actionable takeaways. CRM is a priority and we expect the sales director to manage their business, customers and people. Through this they drive KPI delivery to improve performance for individuals and their teams.

Main Responsibilities
The sales director is expected to develop excellence through operating within a structured environment including managing a specific sales methodology, forecast methodology and/or structured deal management by sales stage. You will be great at gathering evidence, understanding the need to identify next steps and be able to formulate a plan.
A large part of the sales director's role is not only to motivate individuals but regularly coach the team to be better. They should have an ability to observe, evaluate and deliver meaningful feedback. Providing on the job and classroom training as part of their every day is important and they must understand that developing their people into a best in class sales team; focusing upon skill, behaviour and knowledge is their number 1 priority.

Person Specification
Experience: The sales director must have had a minimum of 4 years working experience in a sales leadership position within a fast-paced and dynamic business environment.
The candidate must also have a proven and successful ability to lead a group of salespeople towards growth in enhanced sales volumes and enhanced revenue generation, while displaying exceptional leadership skills and confidence.
A suitable candidate will also have had experience evaluating product/market situations and analysing raw data and information, transforming it into actionable sales strategies and approaches.
Technological: Demonstrates high proficiency in ability to learn and use new technological solutions.
Analytical Skills: The candidate will have an in-depth knowledge strategic, analytical, and marketing concepts.
Comfortable and experienced at working within a data driven organisation and to KPI’s and benchmarks.
A suitable candidate for this position will also have a deep understanding of the business’s marketplace models as well as the opportunities and limitations that come along with it.
Adept at analysing data in order to translate this into strategic goals and plans for the teams to work to.
Interpersonal Skills: Must possess excellent interpersonal skills that will encourage openness and trust both internally and externally.
Industry knowledge: Ideally the sales director will have knowledge of the UK Regional Radio business and the companies that operate within it.
Customer Group: The sales director should, where possible, show evidence of where they have worked with local major clients themselves whilst at the same time managing a successful sales team
