Role overview

The KFM Corporate & Capital Procurement team are now looking to recruit a forward thinking procurement professional to deliver ongoing procurement activity, which will include contracts as well as involving tendering activity whilst building and leading on the relationships with the KFM Purchasing Support function. This will include catalogue changes, cancellations, reviews and even new catalogue requests.

The role will be key to ensuring you achieve this through the following deliverables of the service;

  • Supporting cross-functional procurement / sourcing teams to develop and implement category and sourcing strategies for high spend, high risk, complex requirements.
  • By deliver value to the Trust.
  • Achieving year on year cash releasing and cost avoidance savings.
  • Developing and leading sourcing strategies for low to medium spend and low to medium risk requirements.
  • Adhering to policies and operational practices comply with the Trust’s Standing Financial Instructions (SFIs), and relevant legislation and other statutory requirements and that they provide effective procurement of all categories of services and commodities.
  • Developing an excellent working relationship with all clinical and corporate stakeholders and to ensure that the service provided to internal customers is of a high standard.
  • Challenging current supply arrangements.
  • Managing contracts and suppliers for low to medium spend and low to medium risk requirements.
  • Supporting with re-negotiating contracts, where appropriate.

Qualifications
Educated to degree level or with equivalent work experience within a
procurement / supplies function
• CIPS Qualified to Diploma level (L4) or student member working
towards this goal

Skills
Competent with Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Competent in modern applications, such as PowerBI would be desirable
• Knowledge and experience of e-procurement systems and a strong
commitment to using IT systems to improve procurement efficiency
would be desirable.
• Able to work as part of a large team
• Able to use initiative and work independently
• Well-developed negotiation, persuasive, facilitating, and influencing
skills, with both staff members and suppliers
• Well organised and able to prioritise workload, requiring the minimum of
supervision
