The starting salary for this position is £6,434 per annum for working 7.2 hours per week. The role is offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract or secondment opportunity. 

About Surrey Hills Arts 

Surrey Hills Arts is a partnership between Surrey County Council Arts Service and the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). It aims to engage and inspire people in the outstanding natural landscape through an imaginative programme across the arts, promoting heritage, health and tourism. Over the past fifteen years, we have delivered innovative landscape projects engaging local communities and developing emerging artists.

The Role 

We are looking for a committed, highly motivated and enthusiastic Arts Officer to support the innovative Surrey Hills Arts programme. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organised individual to contribute to existing projects whilst developing new work that connects our diverse communities to the Surrey Hills landscape and develops artists across the art forms.  

You will be supported to work remotely or from a base or bases in the area.  

This exciting role requires someone who can forge effective working relationships with a range of internal and external partners. 

About You

We’re looking for someone who: 

  • Is innovative, creative and highly motivated with a passion for culture/outdoor arts 
  • Is organised and good at time management 
  • Has experience of working as part of a team in an arts/community environment 
  • Has knowledge and appreciation across the art forms 
  • Is willing to take the lead as well as a supporting role on projects 
  • Has proficient IT skills, can accurately manage databases, and can undertake administrative tasks 
  • Is an effective communicator both verbally and in writing 
  • Has marketing and design skills (the role will involve working with Creative Suite but it is not essential that you have experience of using this)

You should also have a valid driving licence and access to a vehicle as the role will require travel within the county.
