The starting salary for this role is £32,173 per annum for working 36 hours per week. This is a 12-month fixed term contract.

Lack of or insufficient communication is consistently one of the biggest concerns from our customers and the impact can be considerable on the reputation of the Service. The complexities of our own works programmes and those of other stakeholders mean that managing and communicating the information in a quality format can be very challenging.

Orbis is a shared services partnership between Surrey County Council, East Sussex County Council and Brighton and Hove City Council. Overall, the councils spend around £1.6bn with external suppliers for everything from software to social care services and from cleaning products to sports equipment. We have a large Procurement Service which supports customers to deliver better value from our contracts and ensures we source our contracts in an open, fair and transparent way.

Based within the Orbis Procurement Team, this is an important role supporting the provision of a high standard of targeted communications.

In this role you will be expected to produce and publish communications with our colleagues, customers and stakeholders both in advance of projects commencing, during and after their conclusion using the most appropriate mediums available. This requires you to liaise, work collaboratively, and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, customers and partner organisations.

We are looking for people who are enthusiastic, proactive and motivated team players who can provide an excellent service.

To be shortlisted for an interview please upload your CV and a personal statement to clearly evidence the following:

  • Proven experience in marketing communications and communications strategy development.
  • Exceptional writing ability across a range of styles, and demonstrable ability to tailor style to the requirement for any given exercise.
  • Knowledge of interpretation techniques.
  • Knowledge of all types of media (including social media) and the impact of each media on different audiences.
  • Ability to prioritise and plan own workload in the context of conflicting priorities to meet tight deadlines and work on own initiative.
  • Exemplary PowerPoint and MS Office skills.
  • Experience of graphics design, video production and editing, and other relevant computer applications.
  • SharePoint 2019 and/or basic web page construction experience.
Additional Information

The job advert closes at 23:59 on 28/08/2022.

Interviews will take place in the week commencing 05/09/2022.
